In front of a record crowd the DDFUA held its annual Trophy Presentation Dinner on Friday 9th September.

Guests were treated to a scrumptious dinner and dessert while stopping to congratulate and recognise the umpires presented with an award by the DDFUA. A photo slideshow and various videos also entertained the guests and showed them what the DDFUA had been up to in season 2011.

Experienced MC Chris Millsteed again had the guests in stitches as he returned for his sixth Trophy Presentation Dinner as host.

As the night drew to its conclusion all eyes turned to the stage as the 2011 Grand Final field umpires were announced. These umpires will be taking charge in the biggest games of the season and were recognised by all as being deserving recipients of the honour.

The Trophy Presentation Dinner concluded with DDFUA Umpire Manager, Daniel Gibbons being honoured with life membership of the Association for his continued service over ten years. Gibbons said "it is totally unexpected but an honour to be given life membership and be included with umpires who I have looked up to for their dedication and service to the Association."
