The Field Umpires for the first week of Finals were announced in front of a large gathering of parents and family at tonight's Parent Thank You Night. The DDFUA treated its umpires' parents to a BBQ and drinks to thank them for their support during the season.

The Parent Thank You Night has been held over the past two seasons and this year's turnout was unprecedented. A large number of parents and other family members met together to enjoy the festivites whilst the umpires trained.

The Parent Thank You Night marks the commencement of the DDFUA's biggest month of the season. The DDFUA's umpires will be kept busy as they umpire the 12s Round Robin competition, Super 8s transition games, AFL Little League and WAFL Little League. Finals for 13s-17s also commence this weekend.

After the parents enjoyed the BBQ, the umpires joined them in the clubrooms to eat and gather around for the announcement of the field, boundary and goal umpires for the first week of finals. Congratulations to the umpires that have been appointed for finals and good luck as they strive to be umpire a Grand Final.
