The Perth District Development Council would like to formally congratulate Daniel Gibbons on his appointment as Umpire Manager in the Demons District Football Umpire Association for 2011.

Daniel has been involved in Umpiring for a considerable time, starting as a junior with the DDFUA and progressing through the ranks, and taking on more of a mentor and leadership role in previous seasons. Daniel has recently been President of the DDFUA and took on the task with aplomb, Daniel will be vacating from the Presidency in 2011.

The position of Advisor has been renamed Umpire Manager in an effort to better reflect the changing nature of the role in recent years. This position now demands excellent managerial skills, the ability to coordinate an extended coaching staff and the confidence to coach inexperienced and experienced umpires.

The WAFC and the Demons District Development Council trust that Daniel will continue to drive professionalism and growth amongst the Umpires that he now manages, and we wish him all the best of luck in his new role.
