Welcome to our brand new website. In what can only be described as an exciting move for the DDFUA, the Association has joined the worldwide web.
The new website, designed by CaptureSport Australia, was recently launched in anticipation of the start of the 2010 football season and has been well received by the members and wider community.
Association President Daniel Gibbons hopes that the website will help the wider football community find out more about the DDFUA and umpiring in general. “It has a lot of information about our Association and about umpiring. It answers any question you could ask about umpiring in our district,” he said.
He also suggested that the website will serve as an important recruiting tool. “It was a step that we had to take in this digital age,” he said. “We hope that people interested in umpiring can now find all the necessary information to decide whether umpiring is for them,” he said.
The website also has plenty to interest the Association’s existing members. There is a members-only login section with a wealth of information relevant to the DDFUA’s umpires, life members and supporters.
They will also be able to participate in an online community where they can continue to interact with each other and discuss umpiring through the various interactive tools built into the members-only area.
The website certainly heralds a new era for the DDFUA and signals a growing professionalism within the Association.
“We are very proud of how the website looks and it would not have been possible without the support of our major sponsor, the Caravan Superstore & RVs of Kenwick,” the President added.
