Pot Black Pool Centre in Cannington was the place to be on Saturday May 22nd. Twenty-five eager and excited umpires chalked up their pool cues and put their skills to the test as we teamed up for 2-on-2 pool. It was a shaky start for many as we attempted to loosen up the arms and the brain and get into the competitive spirit.
The partnership of the night proved to be that of Glen Turner and Cory Dugan. They quickly asserted their dominance over the other competitors and never looked back, carrying a clear cut 100% winning record for the entire night. Well done guys!
Paul ''Sheepy'' Simonsen provided a prize to the fairest and best pool player for the night and it was clear from the outset that this was not going to be an easy choice. In the end it was Jayman Tilbee that took out the award and was thoroughly excited not only to receive the prize and title of fairest and best, but to meet and greet star Fremantle Dockers utility Michael Johnson.
Overall the night was extremely successful, attracting a pleasing number of umpires. There's lots more social events planned for this season but the Pool Night was certainly a great way to kick it off.
